Chromodoris cf strigata Rudman, 1982
25mm

Although similar in color to the one we are calling Chromodoris colemani, this species differs in having a narrower body, a pair of diffuse dark patches on each side behind the rhinophores and midbody, and a circle of orange gills with white branches on the inner part of the circle. The diffuse dark patches and body shape are closer to Chromodoris strigata. It is possible that, like C. colemani, C. strigata may have multiple color forms to mimic other toxic nudibranch species. We have also seen this species or variety in the Philippines. The specimen below was found under a rock in shallow water east of the Liberty wreck in Tulamben. About 20mm.
