Scorpaenodes parvipinnis (Garrett, 1864)
Coral scorpionfish, 14cm

This small scorpaenid can be found in bushes of branch coral, around clumps of algae or under rocks on seaward and lagoon reefs.

The brightly colored individual as well as the smaller, dark one below were photographed by Stan Jazwinski.
