The first individual was photographed in 1982 in the shadow of a concrete barge run up as a marker on a large pinnacle west of Enewetak Atoll's deep passage. A second one was found at night on top of a lagoon pinnacle at Kwajalein Atoll at a depth of about 8m, and one more is here reported from Ailinglaplap Atoll.
