This animal was photographed at Pupukea, Oahu, exposed at night in about 5m near the mouth of Sharks' Cove.

These shells were more typically found empty or inhabited by hermit crabs, such as this one under a rock at about 13m directly off the mouth of Pearl Harbor, Oahu.
