Marionia rubra (Rüppell & Leuckart, 1828)

What we are tentatively calling Marionia rubra is known in the Marshalls from two specimens found at Enewetak Atoll. Both were brown in color, as shown below, and both came from under rocks on Enewetak lagoon pinnacles. The specimens measured about 100mm long. It is highly likely that Marionia sp. e348 is simply a green form of Marionia rubra. Curiously, both of the brown M. rubra were found at Enewetak, while about six green M. sp. e348 were all from Kwajalein.
