Thalamita cf picta Stimpson, 1858
20mm

This was hiding in a loose clump of branching coral in a lagoon patch of Halimeda algae. Figures of Thalamita picta in references and on the web show a range of colors, suggesting it may be a variable species. Both this one and the other one we are calling Thalamita cf picta seem to fall into the range of variation, even though they do not look a lot alike. The ID remains uncertain.
