Aethra scruposa (Linnaeus, 1764)
125mm

This is the largest Aethra crab at Kwajalein. These can be found under rocks on lagoon, pinnacle or seaward reefs. The carapace is often heavily encrusted with marine growth, but even when clean after a recent molt, its surface is fairly irregular and rugose.
