Oxycheilinus digrammus (Lacepède, 1801)
Cheeklined wrasse, 40cm

This common species can be seen on lagoon, pinnacle and seaward reefs. It varies somewhat in color. This is an aggressive fish and shows little or no fear of divers.

Immediately after taking the photo below, the fish came in and bit front of the camera.

Subadult individual among gorgonians on the seaward reef.

This one from a lagoon reef may be a color variety.

More juveniles.

These last two are probably also this species, although the green dots on the last one seem rather peculiar.
