Nicola tetela (Borojevic & Peixinho, 1976)

This is a small calcareous sponge, at most about 25mm tall. Colonies can be found under rocks or in small caves on seaward, lagoon or pinnacle reefs. It is similar to Nicola tetela described from Brazil and also observed at Curaçao, but the Pacific species shown here needs further study.
