Amphimedon queenslandica Hooper & van Soest, 2006

This blue sponge lives out in the open in usually rather small colonies on lagoon reefs and pinnacles. It is commonly seen in published images as a Haliclona but generally not identified to species.

The sponge is the food source for the nudibranch Jorunna funebris, a small specimen of which is seen on the colony below.
