Canthigaster janthinoptera (Bleeker, 1855)
Honeycomb or greenspotted toby, 9cm

This species is moderately uncommon at Kwajalein, although they may sometimes be overlooked due to their similarity to the more common Canthigaster solandri. We usually see these on the seaward reef. This fish is relatively similar to an endemic Hawaiian species called Canthigaster jactator.

The next three were photographed in one of the Kwajalein reef quarries by Christina Sylvester. They were estimated at about 4cm.
