This was embedded in the hard shell of Hippopus hippopus, one of the giant clam species. While we cannot be certain, it seemed likely that the tubes were calcareous. It is possible this is a species of Spirobranchus and that the lighter colored area between the crowns is the tube coming up out of the substrate.
