Phyllamphion elegans (de Man, 1881)

Phyllamphion elegans is sometimes called the mole lobster due to its small eyes and secretive habits, living well back in ledges and caves. They are generally only glimpsed in those caves at night. The one below was observed under a large rock in a seaward reef channel, and these photos were taken before it slipped away into one of the caves that line that channel. Formerly known as Palinurellus wieneckii.
