Dardanus sanguinolentus (Quoy & Gaimard, 1824)

Dardanus sanguinolentus is similar to Dardanus sanguinocarpus but has red or brown patches rather than black on the walking legs. They are also similar to Dardanus longior, which in the Marshalls seems to be a deeper water species found on the seaward reef dropoff. D. sanguinolentus was mostly found on lagoon reefs.
