Calcinus elegans (H. Milne Edwards, 1836)

Calcinus elegans lives in the intertidal and shallow subtidal zone, usually near and in the groove and spur system on windward reefs.

What used to be considered the Hawaiian orange color variation of Calcinus elegans has been determined to be a different species, Calcinus pictus. The photo below was taken on a reef on Oahu, Hawaii.
