Parupeneus multifasciatus (Quoy & Gaimard, 1825)
Multibarred goatfish, 35cm

This species is very common on lagoon and seaward reefs. Small schools of juveniles can often be seen over lagoon Halimeda patches.

This one exhibits night coloration on the reef after dark. I have to say I'm not certain about the ID. The multiple vertical bands suggest P. multifasciatus.
