Stephanometra tenuipinna (Hartlaub, 1890)

Stephanometra tenuipinna is an abundant and highly variable nocturnal species. After dark, large numbers emerge from under rocks or within crevices and sometimes cover coral colonies and rocky outcrops. They have been found on lagoon, pinnacle and seaward reefs, and are even present in lagoon Halimeda patches along sandy slopes. We suspect that all the photos below represent this species, although we are not certain.
