Daldorfia horrida (Linnaeus, 1758)
100mm

Daldorfia horrida gets quite large, with rare specimens exceeding 25cm in width, including their folded up chelipeds. Most specimens we see are much smaller. We often call it the "king kong crab" for its large and powerful "arms." By day these hide under rocks or in caves, often emerging at night to feed.
