These Lobophyllia, which may not all be the same species, were found on lagoon and seaward reefs. Like some of the other species, some colonies appear orange at depths deeper than orange light penetrates, indicating they must be absorbing the bluer light that reaches them and re-emitting it as orange. There is a slight similarity to some figures we have seen of Lobophyllia flabelliformis, but we are not confident in that ID.
