Synthecium flabellum Hargitt, 1924

This black hydroid was photographed on seaward reefs and large pinnacles just in from deep water passes.

The hydroid in the photo below is apparently being eaten by the nudibranch Coryphellina exoptata.

The placement of this single stranded specimen is uncertain.
