Cephalopholis sonnerati (Valenciennes, 1828))
Tomato hind, 57cm

Cephalopholis sonnerati is most often found where small isolated reefs protrude from a sandy lagoon slope from about 8 to at least 40m. These reefs are frequently home to schools of cardinalfish (Apogon spp.) and pygmy sweepers (Parapriacanthus ransonneti), which no doubt make up much of the groupers' diet. Maximum length is reported to be about 57cm.
