Anguipecten cf superbus (Sowerby, 1842) [2]

This single empty specimen is probably a form of Anguipecten superbus. The dark color on the base of the shell, however, did not match any other specimen we have seen, even those the same size as this one. It seems best to treat it separately for now. The shell was found at a depth of about 45m on the seaward reef.
