Mitra papalis (Linnaeus, 1758)

Mitra papalis is uncommon at Kwajalein, but can occur in sand on lagoon, pinnacle or seaward reefs at depths of about 6 to at least 45m. Buried in sand by day, they can sometimes be seen crawling through the sand with the backs of their shells slightly exposed.
