Mauritia scurra (Gmelin, 1791)
Jester cowry, 50mm

Mauritia scurra is relatively rare in Hawaii. We saw most of our specimens under rocks in 12 to 20m of water along the southern and western coasts of Oahu, although also saw specimens at Puako, Hawaii. The subspecies in Hawaii is Mauritia scurra scurra.

39.75mm specimen below.

We have also seen Mauritia scurra in the Marshall Islands.
