We have 15 records of Phyllidia varicosa, all from the second trip. We found specimens at Nggela at a Mbokonmbeti pinnacle and at Tanavula, and off Guadalcanal at Tanaghai, Ruaniu, Bonegi, and Aruliho. This is also a common species in Hawaii.
