Melampus flavus (Gmelin, 1791)
13.4mm

These land snails are sporadically common just above the high intertidal, often on vegetation, driftwood or sometimes rocks above the level the high tide water usually reaches. They come in several colors, including white, brown and a combination of the two. We have seen references that call these different species, but here they seem to live and intermix freely, suggesting they are just color forms.
