Plocamopherus maculapodium Vallès & Gosliner, 2006

The first Kwajalein specimen of this Plocamopherus was found on 8 February 2009 under a small rock on the atoll's east reef. It was at a depth of about 6m and measured 19mm in length. The animal was feeding on the branching bryozoan shown in the lower foreground of the photo.

Below, the mouth is engulfing the bryozoan prey.

A second specimen was found under a rather bare rock on a large midlagoon pinnacle reef.
