Goniodoridella sp. e297
5mm

This unidentified goniodorid may be a juvenile of something else, but 11 similar specimens were found at Enewetak, all on the same shallow lagoon reef. The animals measured 3 to 5mm in length. Gosliner et al (2018) figure something very much like this from Papua New Guinea as Goniodoridella sp. 4, but it has reddish tipped rhinophores and lacks the black dots. It appears that both of ours below have yellowish tipped rhinophores, so they could be a local variant.

This even tinier specimen found and photographed by Christina Sylvester may be the same, just too small for the lateral processes to have developed.
