Pleurobranchus peroni Cuvier, 1804

This pretty little pleurobranch is so far known from one specimen found in a Halimeda algae patch on a Kwajalein Atoll lagoon reef on 7 September 2008 at a depth of 9m. The animal, which appeared juvenile, measured only 9mm in length. The Sea Slug Forum shows an animal very much like this as a juvenile of Pleurobranchus peroni, which we have not yet found here in the Marshalls as an adult. The only other pleurobranch we find with some regularity in the area where this specimen was found is Pleurobranchus forskali.
