I saw only a few of these in Hawaii. The upper photo was from the reef bench at Diamond Head and the lower was exposed at night on algae-covered rocks at a depth of about 4m at Makua, both on Oahu. This is also often seen listed as Micromelo guamensis, and there remains some question about which is the proper name.
