This seems most likely a form of Favorinus japonicus, but since those are virtually always found eating opisthobranch eggs and these were not, we are keeping them separate for now. This species (or form) is known from two specimens, one from Enewetak and the other from Kwajalein. The former was found at night exposed on Halimeda algae on a lagoon pinnacle, while the latter was holding onto a bouncing subsurface buoy marking a lagoon bottom shipwreck.
