Rostanga dentacus is rare in the Marshalls, so far known from only two specimens found together on a Kwajalein Atoll lagoon pinnacle. They found under dead coral at a depth of about 10 meters on 23 June 1991. When found, one animal was in the process of depositing an egg mass.
