This species is rare in the Marshalls, known only from one specimen at Enewetak and three at Kwajalein. All were found under dead coral on lagoon or seaward reefs at depths of 4 to 10 meters. The Enewetak specimen measured 19mm. I thought I had this correctly identified, but the book by Gosliner et al (2008) shows this to be more similar to Carminodoris flammea (Fahey & Gosliner, 2003).

The two photos below show a specimen from a Kwajalein lagoon Halimeda patch in about 8m of water on 29 October 2011.

We also have this species from Hawaii.
