The upper photo is one of two specimens observed at San Carlos, Mexico, on 19 September 1985. The lower two shots are of one of two animals observed at Punta Concepcion, Baja California, on 11 July 1983. The gills on this striking species are unusually frondose for a species of Chromodoris, and there has been a suggestion on the Sea Slug Forum that it might actually belong in another genus.
