Dolabrifera dolabrifera (Cuvier, 1817)

Dolabrifera dolabrifera is relatively common under rocks on intertidal and shallow subtidal reefs.

Sometimes they are quite hard to see on their typical background.

There can be considerable color variation.

The pair below was photographed in Hawaii, and was caught here in the process of mating. They have also deposited eggs as the purplish mass above and to the right of the animals.
