Phidiana hiltoni (O'Donoghue, 1927)

This large nudibranch was a common species around the Channel Islands. Although a hydroid eater, this species has been known to attack and bite other eolid nudibranchs, including members of its own species.

A specimen with more red from Santa Cruz.
