Thordisa sp. a272
25mm

This very cryptic Thordisa is very likely a light colored form of Thordisa sp. a063, which we found several times on a black fan-shaped sponge. In May 2016 we saw about three specimens of this cream colored variety or species on a sponge that looked very much like the black fan sponge but was cream in color. These specimens were found at night at Red Palm. These appear to be the species figured in Gosliner et al (2018) as Thordisa sp. 12.

Close up of the body texture.

Two additional specimens were observed at Red Rock.
