Stichodactyla-haddoni-orange-dv1.jpg (150644 bytes)

The anemone Stichodactyla haddoni comes in several colors, the most striking of which is this bright orange. We have also seen pink, white, brown, and combinations of while and brown. The anemone is usually host to a number of young Amphiprion tricinctus anemonefish, as well as a variety of shrimp and crab commensals. Although the books do not record this species from the Marshalls, it does occur here at Kwajalein where it is not uncommon in sandy lagoon flats and patches of Halimeda algae.
