Pterapogon kauderni Koumans, 1933
Banggai cardinalfish, 8.6cm

Apparently endemic to the Banggai Islands in Indonesia, this species has been intentionally introduced to Lembeh Strait and Gilimanuk bay in Indonesia, where they are now common. In 2017 we saw them also at the site called Bayu place in the Pemuteran area of northwest Bali, indicating they are spreading beyond their original introduced location. They tend to hang around in small schools around long spined Diadema sea urchins and sea anemones.
