Keyhole limpet - Macroschisma cuspidatum

It's especially exciting to recall finding several specimens of this animal on the sandy upper slope during our night dive, as I hadn't remembered ever seeing anything like it in my 47 years of diving! Close examination revealed it to be a species of limpet and indeed, it was a known species named Macroschisma cuspidatum. Common as it was, the thrill of finding it will not soon be forgotten. 25mm
