Vermetid mollusks create and live in long tubes embedded deep in coral or rock and feed by extruding a mucus net, which it then draws in, harvesting any edible material. The clear mucus is just barely visible coming from the center opening between the eyestalks. The diameter of this Thylacodes grandis was 15mm.
