Anemone - Phyllodiscus semoni

What looks like a lump of fuzzy looking algae is actually an anemone, Phyllodiscus semoni, and it was the primary reason for revisiting this particular dive site. About 120mm across, this species is highly variable in color and texture and can inflict a very potent sting. This one was found in exactly the same spot over a year ago.
